What classes or sports do you coach?
Swimming lessons.
What made you want to become a coach?
I started swimming when I was five and began competing at the age of eight. My passion for swimming eventually led me to become a swimming teacher. I’ve won lots of medals throughout my swimming journey, but I’m especially proud of my Scottish gold medal!
What’s your favourite thing about being a coach?
Swim teaching is one of the best jobs in the world! I love seeing smiles on everyone’s faces week after week as they have fun, build confidence and progress with their swimming. Being able to teach such an important life skill that could one day save their life, or someone else’s, makes it even more rewarding.
What’s your top tip for swimmers?
Keep it fun, positive and engaging! Be patient and encouraging, and make sure everyone feels comfortable and confident in the water. Creating a relaxed, enjoyable environment helps swimmers learn at their own pace and get the most out of every lesson.
